When I log in as host and go to the Module Definitions page and look at the Module Definition dropdown I do not see an option to Import the Module Defintion.  If I select 'Create New Module', select Manifest and select GuestbookVb from the Module Folder dropdown, then 'GuestbookVB.dnn' file gets pulled into the Resource dropdown.  Then I can select 'Create Module' and the page is refreshed but nothing seems to happen.  However, I do see this at the bottom of the screen: javascript:__doPostBack('dnn$ctr348$EditModuleDefinition$ctl35', '').  If I select Module Defintions again, the GuestbookVB module still does not show up in the list.  How can I pull the module in? Thanks very much.

Cheryl,

They changed this behavior with DNN 5.2, I have a blog post that talks you through the updated process.

Thanks Mitchel.

I did find your blog and am trying to import the module using the steps from your blog. I select the GuestbookVB folder and the Resource of 'GuestbookVB.dnn' gets pulled in.  Then I click 'Create Module' but nothing seems to happen.  Then if I click on Module Definitions the GuestbookVB module is not in the list.

Is there a way to trace what is happening when 'Create Module' is clicked?

Thanks very much.

There is not an easy way, can you see if you have any errors in the EventLog after clicking Create Module?

Nothing shows up in the event log. If I try to import the Album code from the module development webinar, nothing happens or shows up in the log either.  However, when trying to import either the GuestbookVB code or the Album code, the *.dnn files are found ok.

Is this a clean DNN installation? The install version?

It's a clean installation and the version is 05.02.03(75).

If I try creating the module from a control rather than from a manifest then it does import one of the ascx files in the directory ok.

Create new module from manifest was not working because of a bug that has now been fixed in this new release:
