Hello,

I followed the article Mitch wrote on adding Windows Live ID and was successful at adding it to my login area; as well, logging in went smoothly...adding myself to the site during registration as well. It wasn't until I tried logging out and selecting to "Sign-off Windows Live?", too, that I was redirected to a Windows Live ID Sign-Out page where I was informed I was successful at signing out of Live ID, but I couldn't sign out of the website itself.

I tried pressing the "Try Again" button, but that didn't work, either. And, pressing the "Done" button returned me to the site where I was still logged in.
After searching the Net and related forums, I'm comming away with a blank. What's equally puzzling is that after I close the browser and open anew, I return to the site and I only have to press the login button and I'm in...no request for credentials.

Can anyone help understand what might be happening here? And, do you think caching from PageBlaster might be part of the problem? Here's a screenshot of the Live ID screen I got when trying to exit.

The issue is actually a known bug in the DotNetNuke Authentication Provider.

It has been logged at some point a while back, I can't remember the root cause of it, but I know that it is a known issue.

Hi Mitchel,

I noticed you were using Live ID...are you having the same problems or did you solve it for yourself?

Regards, MitchB

The exact same issue applies to this site as well.

I have yet to fix it myself, but I did a little googling for you.

Here is a link to the thread I was talking about on DotNetNuke.com, it includes a link to a supposed updated DLL that resolves the issue. http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/181994/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Nope...

Out of curiosity, I tried your own Live ID login and it's busted , too. I cannot log out of your site now...I'm siply ushered in with no asking for credentials.

I did find an answer in a DotNetNuke.com thread you might understand and comment on: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/181994/scope/posts/Default.aspx

I can't even remember the right way to fix it.

I might have to give that modified dll file a try, but I don't have time to get it right now.

Well, I have forum-searched myself to death.

I am trying to set up the Live ID association. My app code and secret key are good, the return URL is the URL to my login page without the query string.

I go to my site, click login, select Live ID, takes me to the Live sign in. I sign in successfully, it redirects me back to my login page, but I'm not logged in.

===============================

Wow, as I was typing this question I thought of something, and I just figured out the answer. so here is the answer..

I had turned off user registration because I didn't want users asking for logins, I was assigning them to our customers manually. Once I changed the user registration option in DNN back to Private, the page popped right up for me. When set as off, users can still login using DNN logins, but the Live ID to DNN account association page wasn't popping up.
