I have an unusual issue with a live portal, the Host Settings and greyed out text boxes.

On my development portal which is on WinXP with SQL2005 everything works perfectly. However on the live server, WinServer2003 with SQL2005, under the Module Definitions when I select a Module the text boxes are greyed out, as if I don't have permission to edit them.

Here is an image of the Host Definitions for the Dev. Server: http://media.indonegal.com/odd1.gif

When I inspect the code on the Live Server that text boxes have the following code:

Would anybody have any suggestions as to why this would be different and if I missed something with my installation.

First off I had to edit your post, due to the content breaking the forum a bit.

The issue, isn't really an issue.

In the module definitions page, when not in a local host you cannot edit all fields.

Cheers for that answer. I didn't known that difference existed between localhost and live servers.

Mitchel,

I found another issue which only happens on the live server.

I have recently installed EAE media DNN Backup Restore and Open-ViewState v2.0.

Both of these apps/modules cannot be placed on a page, instead they are loaded into the Host Menu.

To configure/administer them you have to access them via the Host Menu.

However, I've found that when I install them on my live server they load with any issues, are visible in Module Definitions but are not  in the Host Menu. This only happens on the live server.

I wondering are there certain settings in web.config, Windows 2003 or DNN that I would need to change to rectify this situation.

You would need to contact the module developers.

Modules that add themselves to the host menu, take specific action on installation, and it is the developers implementation that could affect how it was done.
