This may be a stupid question or something I missed completley in the grand scheme of things - but, is there a way to design and add modules and make changes to pages before that content goes live on the page.

what I mean is - lets say on my homepage. I want to add a new text module, I can only add it to the top or bottom of a certain pane, so I add it. well, any visitors that come in directly after I add that see it in the wrong position, with empty content until I  can move it to the right place and fill it with content.

when I was designing this wasnt and issue because my site wasnt live. now my site is live and it seems odd to me that I have to jostle these modules around while all the time users coming in are kinda seeing my movements... and seeing empty or incomplete moduels.

does that make sense? I hope Im explaining myself correctly.

I thought maybe that was what design mode was for, but evidentally not.

Is there a way around that or trick or is there something else I have missed.

Actually there is a way around this.

When adding the module from the control panel at the top, there is a "visibility" option, change this to "Page Editors Only" before adding the module. This will make it only visible to those with edit permissions to the page. You can then update the content and place the module where you want it to be. Then simply go into the settings for the module and check the box to have it inherit permissions from the page and save, then your users can see it.
