Hello,

I am trying to work on the server from my local desktop and I keep getting this error in the code mode of my ASP in VisualStudio, that certain tags are 'not a known element'. I seem have all my references in the right place. Would anyone know how to fix this error.

Thanks

Do you also get an error message on the ASP.NET declaration that "xxx is not a valid IIS Application" or something of that nature?

Yes, I get errors there. Now I can't break into my code, I get - 'No symbols have been loaded'... I'm working on the server from my local. What do you think it might be?

Thanks

Ok, if you have an error that it is not a valid application you need to edit the .vbproj or .csproj file to ensure that it has the proper IIS URL. You will need to edit it via a text editor, then scroll to the bottom, you should see the IIS URL, just update it to the proper URL, then re-open the project and see if the errors go away.

I had already changed that also, but I still checked to make sure. This is also happening on multiple pcs to the same server. Could it be that I'm not attaching to the correct process. I know locally it's the 'aspnet_wp.exe' that I need to connect to but how about on the server from my local?

Well if you are using the "Attach to a process" method for debugging the process would either be aspnet_wp.exe or something that starts with "w3p" I can't remember the full name. The latter is what is used on Win 2k3 servers.
