I am using AjaxControlToolkit extensively on my modules. You would remember me posting a problem on TabControl rendering incorrectly in IE. And only now, I realise that it is due to an incompatible DOCTYPE & not due to margins or padding as you pointed out.

But changing DocType by adding doctype.xml files to skin folders makes non-xhtml compliant skins to break.

With the experience you have, I believe you should have found some work-around on this to get the best of both worlds (DNN & Ajax Toolkit)!!!

Ah! Yes, I have ran into this once before, but it manifested itself as a true break to the functionality, and not just a layout issue that you identified.

THe only fix I had was to update the skin.....to be compliant.

Although I have no experience coding skin files, but I have opened up & examined them.

And though this might take some time & effort for the first time, I believe it should not be too difficult to update skin files to be xhtml compliant. Is that so???

Moreover, I saw that skin files are referring to the ascx files in admin/skins folder. I examined a couple of them, and found them to contain ASP markup, which obviously can be made to generate xhtml compliant code. So, does it mean that I would need to modify only the skin file & not files in admin folder??

One last thing, I have not checked it, but are 2 default skin (Blue & Gray) that ship with DNN xhtml compliant, or would they break on using an xhtml DocType via doctype.xml file in Skins folder???

Thanx in advance Mitchel!!! You have been very supportive.

Also, almost all module content is now being centre-aligned. Is there some easy way to again make the module content to left-align???

Each module has an "align" property that you can set in the settings.

Don't tell me I would need to do this individually for all modules

Although I selected "Set as Default Settings"  & "Apply to all Modules", still I had to do left-alignment on a page-by-page basis.

Even after doing that, Header Texts in Container Header bars & Actions in Module's Solpart menus are being center aligned!!!

Isn't there an easy way to set it in some Skin or container css???

You could most likely modify the CSS for the content pane that you are working with to be aligned as you desire.
