The IowaComputerGurus Weather Conditions Service 1.0 DNN module is a module that can provide text based current weather conditions for hundreds of locations around the world. The web service implements the current weather conditions provided by the WebServicex.net Weather Web Service found here.

Below are the detailed features of this web service

• Fully localized content, including the display template
• Ability to obtain weather locations from hundreds of world wide locations
• Vast flexibility due to the template display system

In addition to being functional as is this module is also very nice for learning how to use the WAP module for DNN module development as well as how to incorporate web service calls in your DNN modules. Future plans for this module include the ability to cache results with the localized design templates.

Version 01.01.00 Released - November 13th 2007

This version was a cleanup release to fix a few minor issues with the module to improve performance and to re-align the assembly name to the new standards of IowaComputerGurus. Below is a detailed listing of the changes for this revision

• Assembly change from WeatherConditionsService.dll to ICG.Modules.WeatherConditionsService.dll
• Addition of separate "Not Configured" messages for admin and regular users
• Fixed typographical errors in the localization files
• Removed database tables and stored procedures that were installed by version 1.0 as they are not used.
