File Categorizer is an application created to monitor image files placed within a specific folder and prompt you for category assignment. You can use this to help organize your digital picture collection or any other collection of images (.jpg, .gif, .jpeg, .bmp, and others supported).
The application is very simple to configure, simply tell the application which folder to look at, and tell it the categories you would like to have. Then when a file is added you will either be automatically prompted for a category, or if batch assignment is selected you will be able to assign the category at a later time via the "View Pending Categorizations" option in the File Categorizer menu. The application runs in your system tray and requires minimal system resources. The application can be configured to autostart with Windows and has been tested on Windows Vista.

Your organized files are kept in sub folders based on category name with a unique number added at the end. For example if you have a category called "Sporting Events" the first image assigned to this category would be named "Sporting Events 01.jpg". This keeps your pictures neatly organized and categories can be dynamically added at any time to allow for an unlimited number of category selections.
