I received the error page below after clicking the "Click here to access portal" link following the successful installation of DNN 4.06.  I used you instructional tutorial for installing 4.6.0 locally.  Any ideas?

Thanks, Matt.

Ensure that you have Anonymous access allowed in the Virtual Directory.

Otherwise double check the file/folder permissions.

Thanks, for your reply ... the permissions are set correctly.   I have since successfully installed DNN 4.6.0 on a remote server using another of your "excellent" tutorial.  However, I have the exact same issue with that install ...

When attempting to access the site using the link: http://www.anydaypetservices.com/default.aspx  I receive the 403 forbidden error - this was the same issue I was having with the local installation.

However, I can access the site via the link http://www.anydaypetservices.com/default.aspx?tabid=36

Another issue i have is that if I click the header logo on either the local or remote site, it tries take me to: http://www.anydaypetservices.com/install/Default.aspx but I get the error:
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /install/Default.aspx

Server Error in '/' Application.

The resource cannot be found.

Thanks for the extra information, it appears that your portal alias is not setup correctly.

If you view the values in the PortalAlias table you should see your domain name only in the alias and NOT the /install portion afterwards. if you have the /install portion in there as well, simply update the record to remove it. Then re-save your web.config to cause an application restart and see if the issue goes away.

Glad that it helped! (I'm still trying to figure out how/why that gets added in to the alias at times...)
